Ängsbacka’s program changes with the seasons – and the volunteer experience changes with them. The program in the fall, winter and spring mainly consists of courses and trainings. During this period Ängsbacka is home and workplace to a number of all-year-round staff members, short- and long-term volunteers who together run and manage all operations on site. If you feel drawn to be a part of the Ängsbacka community experience and contribute with your skills and time, we would love to hear from you!

The application can be found below. Please read the information on this page before applying!

As a volunteer in the course season, you are willing and able to offer your time to engage in the daily tasks of the course center and become a part of the on-site working (and living) community.

The work contribution is 30 hours each week (5 hours, 6 days/week). A long-term volunteer agreement can be made at the earliest after 2 weeks of experience. It is also possible to apply for a coordinator role in specific areas. It will be followed by an interview and a contract with a special deal.

Volunteers pay cost price for their stay (100 SEK/day) including three delicious vegetarian meals and a bed in a shared room.

To be serving the courses and taking care of the needs of the course center is your main contribution to Ängsbacka during your stay as a volunteer.

Depending on how many we are on site to support the daily running there are possibilities to start up other projects alongside the main tasks. In these projects, you will be able to bring in and explore your personal talents and gifts and share them with Ängsbacka and the people there. Ängsbacka is rich in possibilities – here are a few examples of the facilities we can offer:

  • Cosy Ängsbacka Café for weekend hangout and get-together
  • Beautiful indoor spaces for meditation, dance, yoga etc.
  • Wood stove sauna
  • Garden and forest
  • Music studio
  • Workshop area for wood/metal work
  • Smaller session rooms for exchange of treatments like massage or coaching.

Six days a week we gather for a morning meeting before starting up the work of the day. Everyone is expected to be part of the meeting – it offers a chance for all to be seen and is also our main forum for sharing information that concerns everyone on site. The daily morning/evening program is decided and put together by the community. You are most welcome to bring your ideas, gifts and to share your enthusiasm in your area of interest! We usually have evenings of dance/singing/movies – but the space is open for you to offer a workshop or whatever is alive in you.
