Welcome to a four day dance journey!
This is a new Ängsbacka event for all who love dancing and for you who are curious to explore it more.
With movement practices, sharing circles, voice exploration, gong relaxation, breath, and bodywork, we will expand our moving body and connect deeper with ourselves and others. This will be a soul journey, exploring intention and purpose through rituals and a 5-hour Long dance.
Soul Dance facilitators so far:
- Arun Ji – Ecstatic dance, DJ
- Magnus Vikström – Event coordinator, music
In the beautiful surroundings of Ängsbacka, with nourishing and tasty vegetarian food, with sauna and the cosy café, and in a heart-opening atmosphere – let’s create a dancing soul tribe!
We meet on Thursday afternoon, check-in is open from 15.00. After being shown your accommodation and unpacking your bags, there is an arrival free dance at 17.00. Dinner is served at 18.30, after which we gather in a welcome meeting to set the warm energy that will permeate the weekend, sharing both practical information, movement and connection, as well as setting intentions. In the evening you can shake it out and let go on the dance floor. This will be the start of a magical weekend.
Friday. After waking up in a slow movement workshop, a delicious breakfast prepares for a day of entering your body, letting go of physical inhibition and controlling mind, for sweat and ecstacy. Morning and afternoon offers inspiring dance workshops. After dinner, the long dance ceremony invites you to let go and unleash, waver between high and low, from soft and slow to ecstasy and to dance your life.
Saturday will be a gentler day for landing in bliss and flow, and also allowing for vulnerability. Space will be given for inquiry and sharing, for peeling layers and expressing one’s truth. We will explore sensuality in a tantric dance, connect with ourselves and others, hold space through movement and sense our bodies and souls and the intimate relationship between.
Sunday. A day of liberation, we welcome the day with dance, followed by a closing ceremony and a festive lunch.

His sensitivity, music taste, and refined technique is well received at festivals and in communities around Europe, Russia and India, where he is regularly invited to play. Arun Ji hosts and plays Ecstatic Dances in Barcelona and Madrid, and organised several Ecstatic Dance festivals and retreats in Ibiza, Almería, Barcelona and Goa.
Mateusz is a Sound & Movement Artist based in Stockholm. He founded Yoga Village (Yoga and Dance Festival in Poland) and teaches the Movement in Yoga Teacher Training at Urban Om in Stockholm. His Relaxation Concerts have been performed extensively.
His work looks for a union of Body, Mind & Awereness. Mateusz holds space for people to explore many ways of accessing meditative states. His background in Yoga and Soundhealing, as well as experience with dance, physical theatre, internal martial arts and movement practices, open a broad landscape of possibilities for participants.
“Allowing participants to challenge and transform what I am offering, keeps me more and more fascinated in my work. I wish for everyone to take what they want and leave the rest, as they bring it back transformed, for everyone to benefit from the new enriched version of what was offered”
Dance teacher and performer, believes that dancing is that moment when there is nothing else but your body, the rhythm and the dancers around you.
Dancing in its original form is an expression of an emotion rather than something created for the stage. Lisa works with different dance forms such as traditional African dances, Blues and Swing, where dancing is a shortcut to feeling free. Mozambican traditional dances, which Lisa is specialized in, are often related to traditional ceremonies where the drum rhythms and the powerful movement leads to a deep spiritual presence with oneself and with fellow dancers. You can be sad, happy or excited, but be prepared this might change along the way…
