Some information about the Diamond Approach ®
The Diamond Approach is a Wisdom Path, a way of approaching Reality and a method that supports one to do the work on oneself that leads to the liberation of all that is the Not-Self. It, therefore, is a path towards Self-Realization in the direction that might be called "transcendence of form into the boundless- formless" as well as a path of Self-Actualization in the direction that might be called "the immanence of True Nature in form". The Diamond Approach represents a new paradigm in the human / psycho-spiritual understanding of the complete human psyche - Ego, Soul and Ground of Being.
The Ridhwan School
What was begun by A. Hameed Ali (A. H. Almaas) and others in 1973 eventually became the Ridhwan School, which is an inner work school devoted to the realization of True Nature. The school exists to support its students to come together to explore the Diamond Approach. The school"s educational branch, the Diamond Heart and Training Institute (DHAT) makes teachings available to the public, trains teachers / ministers, and supports the publication of teaching material through books and audiovisuals. Currently there are many established Diamond Approach groups in the U.S., Canada, Australia and Europe and now, in response to invitation, the Diamond Approach is being offered in Scandinavia - in both Sweden and in Norway.
The Three Tiers of the Work
Students of the Diamond Approach participate in the following ways:
o Large Group Presentation - this is didactic teaching in a lecture format with exercises in dyads and triads which takes place over the course of a weekend or in a longer retreat format.
o Small Group Meetings - where one teacher meets generally with approximately 12-18 students, providing the students the opportunity to do inquiry work in front of other students to learn directly different ways inquiry can happen. Additionally, the small group can provide a greater collective field of presence to help support an individual"s work.
o Individual Teaching Sessions - the private teaching session is a one-to-one exploration between a student and teacher that provides a supportive environment for the student to explore their experience, including their ego issues as well as their direct experiences of Presence in a manner that nurtures the deepening understanding of their Being.
